Master Reseller Marketing is going to be one of the most important aspects of your business! Over the past couple of years we have learned quite a bit about marketing and advertising.. But anyone with business experience can probably tell you where your number one source of customers will come from…. Thats right, word of mouth. If you give good service, your customers will promote your business for you! It is all about support! Not just tech support but customer service as well. You will get backlinks which will help with your SEO. You will get referrals, positive reviews, and much more from your support. Also be aware that you will get negative reviews no matter what you do. There are hundreds of trolls online, and a majority of them are probably your competitors logging in from proxies, friends houses, or whatever to troll their competition. It does happen and it will happen. I’ll be the first to admit, YDGH is not the best at handling PR or whatever.. We answer these trolls head on most of the time. We will tell it how it is rather the community likes it or not. We have been here since february 2009, and have high retention of our customers.. So obviously we are doing something right, rather the “PR” is done right or not! Regardless of the trolls, Forums are still a great source of Master Reseller Sales.

So you do have to be careful as to who you have as your customer.

The resources usually stay the same as if you were just a reseller yourself, but be sure you choose a provider that has overselling enabled so that you can sell more resources that you have. Customers will not use all the resources you sell them. Overselling is a common practice in the hosting industry. Overselling is a major benefit to being a master reseller, because most standard reseller accounts do not come with this feature.

I will leave it up to you to decide if the benefits outweigh the downsides, but from my experience they do by far. Becoming a master reseller could be one of the best business decisions you make unless you decide to go alpha and sell master resellers yourself.

We have been providing Master Reseller Web Hosting plans to businesses since February 2009. Everything written here is our time tested experience in the web hosting industry. This is not intended to be a detailed business plan, or to spell out every thing for you.. However I can guarantee that following this advice will help you be one step closer to being a successful Master Reseller of Web Hosting.

Master Reselling and Alpha Reselling is a competitive business market. To gain an edge I recommend going for a niche market. We originally wanted to go for the Master Reseller market, however a majority of our clients ended up getting Virtual Private Servers instead! Which I completely understand.. a VPS has more power than a Reseller, however it does not include the software that the resellers include. Such as cPanel, WHM, and Fantastico. These are not the only options for reselling, but they are the most common and easiest to use. So if you have no experience as a reseller then you most likely will want to start with cPanel and WHM for reselling.

Paying more does NOT always mean better service in the web hosting business! Our reseller servers could easily have a 2-4 Load average and still be fast… But instead our typical load is less than 0.5… This is extremely easy to obtain because the average Master Reseller uses 50mb of bandwidth and even less space! Again we have been in business since February 2009, and one of our highest usage Master Resellers is using less than 50GB of bandwidth…. That should give you an idea of “how its possible”!!! Everyone always wonders how it is possible to give a master reseller with 1 billion gb of bandwidth… The fact of the matter that most host are afraid for you to find out or know… Is that what you give with your reseller packages is all about perception. We have had customers tell us they chose us because we had 1000gb of bandwidth and a competitor only had 500gb and likewise we have had customers tell us the reason they did not go with us was because 500gb was more believable …. Moral of the story? Its all perception. Pick a niche and make your plans whatever your customers WANT to see.. because frankly they are not going to use the resources. Period. And if every now and then you get one customer using a lot of resources.. its more than paid for by all of the other customers that do not use hardly any of their master reseller resources…
